Economics Student · University of Connecticut

Hi, I’m Tina.

I’m an Economics student at the University of Connecticut, and I’m still learning how classroom ideas connect to real-world decisions.

Right now, I’m exploring economics, data, markets, and business behavior. I’m not fully sure yet where this will lead, but I’m using this site to keep track of what I’m learning, what I’m working on, and how my direction changes over time.

About Tina

Learning how economics connects to real decisions

I’m interested in the part of economics that shows up in ordinary life: why people buy something, delay a choice, react to prices, or change their plans when the market shifts. I’m still figuring out exactly where this interest fits professionally, but I keep coming back to markets, data, and business behavior.

Economics Student

I study Economics at the University of Connecticut and I’m learning how much of the subject is really about people making choices with limited time and information.

Sophomore

I’m still early enough that my direction can change. That feels slightly uncertain, but also useful because I’m paying closer attention to what keeps my interest after class ends.

Interests

  • Markets & decision-making
  • Data and applied economics
  • Business analysis, finance, consulting, and analytics

Learning Direction

From coursework toward real-world experience

Earlier, most of this felt like coursework. Now I’m starting to think about what happens after the assignment is turned in: how people use information, how teams make choices, and how I will handle work that does not come with a rubric.

In Class

I’m starting to notice economic ideas outside of assignments: in prices, headlines, shopping habits, and conversations I used to ignore.

In Practice

I’m getting more comfortable with Excel, research, writing, and basic data interpretation. I still have to remind myself not to rush to the clean answer.

Next Step

The next step is my internship, where I hope to understand what workplace learning feels like when I am new, asking questions, and trying to keep up.
